so much detail and effort and work and dirt and rust put into everything except the skulls. they look like shiny new plastic. amazing work. that shoulder crunched into a skull is really interesting

this is well done. its just not much. this is a great background. this would be a lot better as a component of a complete work. or maybe just add something, like a bright sun with long beams and rays or a child dream flying and running his hand through the fluff.

meltyimp responds:

aah, thank you for your comment. c: I'll keep that in mind next time i do some more environmental work!

immediately and indisputably recognizable. I like this a lot more than that stupid john cusack movie. nailed it. the poem, is that his handwriting?

DocLew responds:

Thanks a lot. :) Yes it is (here's the image: http://dagonbytes.com/poe/stuff/annawrit.gif)!

tip: put something on the paper. maybe an old comic from when the art wasn't as good or perhaps a billboard to which his popping through would add some comic effect

SuperHighPanda responds:

thanks for the input. I'll try that next time

should have done this on black paper with white pencil

KrizzLumino responds:

yeah T^T

Things I don't like:1 the meditative levitation position. I think a conquering purposeful trodding run(kinda like pedobear) would better suit this. 2 the stiletto hooves. as a 2 time robot champion I must say this is not an effective design for a foot it would be too easy to tip forward or backward. neither of these minor flaws are worth any detraction of even a half star.
Things I like: everything else. the plutonium green glow. the way his face glows from the inside reminds me of Hexxus from Ferngully but that may be unsubstantiated. the mushroom cloud in the back is a little obstructed but I love the way the rays peek out around the edges. also forget the blackjack is one of my favorite futurama quotes.

deathink responds:

The two things you don't like do have a hidden meaning, if you look into the picture a little more you might see why the hooves and the levitation position is very important.
Yeah, I love that blackjack quote, Bender is awesome!!! Anyway, thank you very much for the thought out review :)

if you have a tablet or something I highly recommend autodesk apps for art. I have been playing around with sketchbook for a while and im starting to do things im pretty proud of (haven't uploaded anything, don't bother checking.) its free and I just found out today they have a free 3D sculpting app. blew my mind, but I haven't downloaded it. I would like to see how you grow and experiment when you can try, undo, try again, undo, try again until satisfied. I was never happy with anything I accomplished with colored pencils either.

What a really want is some kind of tablet and stylus I can simply plug into my computer and color some of my art with some manor of free art program. That I'll be the day.

stop it. im getting tired of giving you 5s all the time. its getting apparent that youre just one of those guys who will keep earning them.

Demp responds:

Hahahah well man I'm trying to get better and better! and thanks for all those 5's :p

I like the musculature, the shading, etc. that's all great. I am not a big fan of the chaotic scribbling penwork. also the face should be much more emotive. its not much of a furious expression. its kind of a sad scowl. like karl urban in Dredd. it is very well executed though.

Demp responds:

Thanks for the advice man, will have in mind :)

I only looked because of Mr. Meeseeks. this is quite good. love the coloring and shading its like something they would put out themselves to promote it. you even nailed the mortys suggestively seductive lips and those squiggly little pupils.

IceBreak23 responds:

thanks :)
